જવાબ : Blandford was a young, tall, handsome lieutenant. He read a novel ‘Of Human Bondage’ when he was in a training camp. He read words written in a woman’s handwriting throughout the pages of the novel and was impressed so finding out her address, he immediately wrote a letter to the woman whose name was Miss Meynell Miss Meynell also replied to his letter they both continued writing letters to each other.
Blandford felt that he loved her. He requested her for her photograph. But Meynell politely refused the photograph She promised him that he could meet her when he came to New York. He was in New York and his meeting with Miss Meynell was to take place at the New York Grand Central Station at 6.00 so he was waiting for Meynell there. When he saw two women – one a young, slender, beautiful young woman who was without wearing a red rose and the other one past forty, with a pale plump round face who was wearing a red rose on her coat, he was in a state of confusion but immediately he won over his feelings and decided to walk up to the woman with the red rose. The woman who had given him great strength and courage to introduce himself. Though the woman looked ordinary, past forty, he walked up to her and introduced himself to her showing the book ‘Of Human Bondage’. But the woman told him that it was a test to test his true love and he passed it.જવાબ : Miss Meynell was of about thirty. She was tall and slender. She looked really beautiful. When Mr. Blandford wrote her a letter praising the thoughts that she had written throughout the pages of the novel ‘Of Human Bondage’. She also replied to him. Thus their friendship began. She continued writing letters for thirteen months without fail.
She began to feel that she loved him. Even when Blandford’s letter didn’t come, he would write to him regularly. When Blandford requested her for her photograph, she politely requested saying that if his feeling had any reality, her looks would not matter. She promised him she would meet him at the New York’s Grand Central station at 6.00 O’clock when he came to New York. She went there wearing a green suit. But she didn’t wear a red rose on her green suit. The red rose was the symbol of her identification. But to test whether Blandford really loved her, she asked another aged woman to wear that red rose on her untidy coat. This was just to test whether Blandford loved her only because she was beautiful or really loved her despite her ordinary look she succeeded in testing Blandford. Blandford passed her test of true love She was happy they had dinner together at a restaurant across the road.જવાબ : The story ended with a happy note. Lieutenant Blandford was waiting at the Newyork’s Grand central station. For a woman whose name was Miss Hollis Meynell. He was to recognize her friend Miss Meynell with a red rose she would be wearing on her coat when she came to meet him.
She had been a source of courage, strength, and inspiration for Blandford for thirteen months. While waiting for his friend, when Blandford saw a young, tall, slender woman walking towards him with a smile on her face, he was attracted towards her and felt a strong urge to follow her but there was no red rose on her green suit. When he walked a step closer to that young woman, he saw another woman past forty. Who was wearing a red rose on her untidy coat? Blandford immediately decided to walk up to that rather heavy and aged woman thinking that she was the woman who had given him great strength and courage. She was the woman for whom he was waiting there so he walked up to her, showed her that book ‘Of Human Bondage’ and introduced himself to her. He offered her to accompany him to dinner. Then the aged woman disclosed the fact that she had been wearing the red rose on her coat because the young lady who had just passed by him had asked her to wear it. She also told him that a young lady in a green suit was waiting for him at the restaurant across the road She said to him that it was a kind of a test Mr. Blandford passed the test The lady in the green suit was Miss Meynell her self She was sure after that incident that Blandford really loved her Thus the story ended happily.Change the voice : I will buy a new bike.
